  • Therapy Session Length

Most clients are seen for extended sessions (longer than the traditional 45-50 minute home health or outpatient visit). This program feature allows us to better achieve 1:1 therapy goals as well as to:

    • Educate, train, prepare, and supervise family members, other caregivers, and cognitive aides/ NeuroAttendantsm assistants; the focus is on how to monitor and reinforce behaviors addressed in therapy and ways to provide additional opportunities for specific skill practice outside of therapy sessions
    • Conduct thorough behavioral observations and intervention at the actual location of community productive day activities (such as a health club, social activity group, school classroom, and volunteer/worksite).

    Therapy Intensity

The frequency and duration of a client’s program are variable. We develop a flexible care plan that matches the individual needs of our clients, families, and financial partners. A typical client program ranges from one to three sessions per week from each involved therapy discipline.

Options for How Therapy Sessions Take Place

    • In-person: Sessions may be carried out in a wide range of settings including the client’s home, surrounding community, location of preferred productive day activities, and/or office setting carefully designed for client relaxation, comfort, and maximum privacy
    • Via interactive telecommunications technology: Telerehabilitation using the secure ZOOM platform is offered for therapy sessions conducted by our speech-language pathologists; telerehabilitation is offered under specific situational conditions and when the client’s clinical profile meets our participation criteria for remote therapy sessions.
